My
name is Ntuthuko Mfanafuthi Ndebele A.K.A Mthuthu born at Ulundi in 1987 May
27. I studied my primary education at MahlabatiniPrimary School
where developed an interest in music and art.
I
was the member of the school choir and we also had a school dance group.I studied my high school level at NsikayendluHigh School where I was active in the
Music & Drama classes. This was one of my greatest highlight in the
entertainment industry as we were winning competitions all over KZN and also
performed at the well known Durban Playhouse.
In
2004 I finished my Grade 12 and relocated to Durban to further my studies. In 2005 I
started writing my own Hip Hop, RNB and Kwaito lyrics though I did not record
because of scarce resources. In 2005 late I met some few underground artist
like Citify (Hip Hop) & Mlu (RNB), I wrote some of their songs it was an wesome
experience. In 2006 we met with Vusi Nyawo AKA Vubs from Ulundi we decided to
record two Hip Hop tracks at Indonsa Arts and Craft Centre in Ulundi. These tracks were produced by Siya who works
at Indonsa.Unfortunately we had to go separate
ways as I had to go back in Durban
to further my studies.
In
2007 I met Xolani A.K.A Jazz mfana kaSibiya from Umlazi who is known by his
crazy Durban Kwaito tracks, he gave me the opportunity to edit some of his
songs he wrote. Thereafter I deeply started passion in writing not only music
but even poetry. I even present some of my poems in Jazzy Rainbow poetry
sessions.Later in 2007 I met Siyabonga
A.K.A Mr Virus who was doing Kwaito, we decided to take this Kwaito dream
further, so we wrote a song but the problem was the resources like the
recording studios.
We
started surfing the internet for affordable recording studios around Durban. Fortunately we
met Dj Stano of STANO PRODUCTIONS.We
recorded a track and the remix, by that time we didn’t have so much experience
so we needed some guidance. We ask Dj Stano to guide us further and he did that
well. Unfortunately Siyabonga had to go back home so I had to go solo. I
recorded about five Kwaito tracks with Dj Stano than I recorded another 3 with
Philane A.K.A Pilatu who is the Kwaito artist.I started gaining more confidence in recording and I realized which genre
I mostly comfortable with.
The
combination of Jazz and House with a bit of Kwaito is what I have finally based
my debut album on and I want to improve this unique music style on my next
albums.
I
called this genre Dance Jazz.
I
am now settled in because I have found my dream and I am completed my debut
album which will be launched soon.
Now that I have been singing this genre I have grown and gained much more confidence more
especially with my vocals, writing and performances. This kind of music is
targeted to all music fans local and international because it comprises of
house beats and jazz vocals. So far
everyone who has listened and saw my performances has shown appreciation and
interest of this unique music. Since I began this music career I have performed
in Stanger Music Festival, KwaDukuza Provincial Sport Day, Rallies and some
private parties with the likes of BIG NUZ, Dj Tira, Benzy no Mzakes, Dj Masiya,
Dj Sox, L’vovo Derrango and many more.
In
the near future I would like to see myself on top of the music game not only as
an artist but also as the producer/music author and the business man.My dream now is to be recognized locally and
internationally.
